DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Lifeline became a personal project I didn’t know I needed. Through searching out each individual clip, I noticed the beauty within the mundane around me. It made me see my own life through a different lens, and this is what I encourage the audience to do. Only I know the true ‘full’ image, but through extreme close-ups and sound fragmentation, I wanted to create new meaning for each viewer. I found this project to be a very personal one, through the use of my own heartbeat as the soundtrack, and somewhat revealing my private life to an audience. But I found this interesting and exciting, as although, yes, this was my heartbeat, my diary account, my line of everyday life, the true whole is never revealed, creating an air of mystery and intrigue for the audience to create their own images and draw their own fabricated reality in their minds.
